The Morozov collection is on view at the Louis Vuitton Foundation from September 22, 2021 to April 3, 2022. This exhibition features 200 major French and Russian works of art at the beginning of the 20th century by two Muscovite patrons and collectors, Mikhaïl and Ivan Morozov. Notice to lovers of beautiful paintings! The Louis Vuitton Foundation had planned to devote an exhibition to the collection of the Morozov brothers , Mikhail Abramovich and Ivan Abramovich, two Russian patrons, and collectors in 2020. A retrospective imagined in partnership with the Hermitage State Museum in Saint Petersburg, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. Initially scheduled from September 22, 2021 , to February 22, 2022, the exhibition has been extended until April 3, 2022! The Louis Vuitton Foundation welcomes the Morozov Collection and invites us to meet the Icons of modern art through a long journey over several floors. A fine collection of French and Russian modern art, such as Renoir, Picasso, Monet , and even Matisse , first exhibited in summer 2019 at the State Museum of the Hermitage in Saint-Petersburg and then came to Paris. In total, nearly 200 works and other incredible Impressionist and Modernist canvases have traveled to the Louis Vuitton Foundation , for a unique gathering in the heart of the museum. We discover a very rich collection and breathtaking rooms: Picasso, Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Renoir, but also Vroubel, Malevitch, Répine, Larionov or Sérov... We alternate landscapes, portraits and scenes of life, and monumental paintings. This beautiful upcoming exhibition marks a new stage in the cultural friendship between France and Russia. A continuation of an institutional collaboration initiated in 2015 by the Louis Vuitton Foundation with the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts , and the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
