60 years of the Maeght Foundation are being commemorated.

Some birthdays are just too important to ignore in any case. Undoubtedly, the Maeght Foundation's 60th anniversary is going to be one of those. For more over 60 years, the Foundation has been promoting modern and contemporary art, accumulating pieces by well-known creators like as Braque, Giacometti, and Miró in addition to Chagall.

The Maeght Foundation: What is it?

The Maeght Foundation was established in 1964 in Saint-Paul-de-Vence (Alpes-Maritimes) by two art merchants named Marguerite and Aimé Maeght. Its sole focus is modern and contemporary art. As a result, in sixty years, it has managed to arrange no fewer than 150 shows. Above all, with over 13,000 references, it boasts one of the world's largest collections of artwork.

Thus, in true anniversary fashion, the Foundation went above and beyond to create a very elaborate event. beginning on June 29 and running through October 6 with a temporary exhibition named "Amitiés, Bonnard-Matisse" at its Saint-Paul-de-Vence location. An exhibition that traces the amicable relationship between Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard as well as their connections to the Maeght family. the chance to view unique artwork and records for visitors.

A growth surge is often associated with an anniversary, and the Maeght Foundation is no exception, having inaugurated two new rooms this summer specifically devoted to showcasing the permanent collection.

In addition, a month's worth of events are planned for the general public, from June 29 to July 28. Events such as conferences, concerts, and poetry and reading evenings featuring a distinguished cast are arranged by producers Claire Béjanin and Valérie Six.

Actor Thibault de Montalembert (10 percent, Indigènes... and famous French voice of Hugh Grant) and actress Amira Casar (The Truth if I Mens, Call me by your name, Oscar and the Pink Lady, At Eternity's Gate, Saint-Laurent, Anatomy of Hell...) will open the ball on July 25 with recitations of surrealist texts by contemporary poets. René Char, Jacques Prévert, and Louis Aragon... The two performers will carry these artists' words throughout the evening.

Another actor-duo will assume control of the Foundation on July 31. By giving their voices to Matisse and Bonnard, Jean-Pierre Darroussin (The Heart of Men, A Long Engagement Sunday, Dialogue with My Gardener...) and François Marthouret (Thanks to God...) will also honor the friendship between these two artists.

Lastly, on August 15, an acoustic performance with singer Peter Doherty will take place in the center of the Mir ador Labyrinth, making it one of the must-see events of this jubilee summer.
