Major art styles - movements. Links to documentation on our blog for each style
Art style is a distinctive manner in which an artist portrays his or her subject matter and how the artist expresses his or her vision. It is determined by the characteristics that describe the artwork, such as the way the artist employs form, color, and composition.
Each art style is documented, with a basic description of the style, with references to the major artists of the style or movement.

An artistic movement is a group of artists and works art with a common aesthetic.
The art historians generally use the notion of movement when the group associated with it invokes a theoretical corpus clearly defined as obvious.
The term "current" is less clear since it is used as an analytical tool, most often post a period to designate trends (or stylistic approaches).
A current can be defined by the artists themselves or be designated by people external to art ( journalists , historians, etc.) as a corpus of artists spontaneously having the same type of practice.
